Beth Cowperthwaite joined Emerald in February 2019 and serves as Senior Vice President of Communications. She leads the company’s corporate communications and media relations strategy, overseeing all aspects of external and internal communications. Her responsibilities span strategic media relations, public affairs, crisis communications, executive positioning, and broader corporate messaging. She also drives Emerald’s storytelling across multiple platforms, including public relations, social media, thought leadership, employee engagement, and corporate events.

With 20 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, and business development, Beth has worked across the exhibitions, fashion, technology, healthcare, and manufacturing industries. Before joining Emerald, she was Vice President of Corporate Communications at Informa Markets, where she led global communication strategy and enhanced brand visibility both internally and externally. Earlier in her career, she held senior communications roles at UBM Americas (now Informa plc), serving as Vice President of Communications and Director of Public Relations.

Prior to that, she spent over a decade at Business Journals Inc. (BJI), where she led retail and press relations initiatives.
