On May 29, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget (OMB) proposed significant changes to the uniform guidance governing federal grants (2 CFR Part 200) that would be harmful to business and professional events and the venues that host them. Specifically, the OMB proposal would:

• Restrict the discretionary ability of federal grant recipients to participate in relevant conferences 
• Negatively impact the ability of venues to safely host events receiving any federal grant support

ECA has prepared draft comments to OMB in response to this unnecessary and damaging proposal, and we invite industry stakeholders to join our submission to OMB in advance of their July 13, 2026, deadline.
